Hilary Duff, who is most famous for her work with the Disney Channel in her show titled Lizzie McGuire, was born on September 28th, 1987 in Houston, Texas. Throughout her childhood her mother gave her encouragement, and with the inspiration of her older sister, she was able to hone her talents and began acting locally at the age of six. From here, her career began relatively slowly, starting with commercials and moving onto made-for-T.V. movies.

In 2000, Hilary Duff auditioned for, and won the role of, Lizzie McGuire the show named the same. This came after a serious blow when she was cut from an NBC show before airing and only continued on with her acting career because of the insistence from her mother and agent. Once this break came for her, everything seemed to skyrocket. Her first film role came about and was filmed around the same time that Lizzie McGuire began airing, and her music career took off with the show as well.

Since her beginnings as Lizzie, Hilary Duff has gone on to star in several movies of a multitude of genres. Her Disney show has since ended, but it has proven to be popular even though it is no longer aired on a regular basis. Additionally, her music career has taken off since she released a compilation of Christmas songs with other artists, including her sister. She now has three other records that have been released and is planning and working on another.
